I was the lead bioinformatician on a multidisciplinary team of health researchers looking for complication predictors for patients with type 1 diabetes. Built key database for patient survey data. Cleaned and curated heterogeneous patient data including surveys and genetics. Conducted a graph based analysis to identify predictors of diabetes complications using ensembles of machine learning models.

I worked as a TA for ecology, evolution, plant biology, and quantitative methods (biostatistics). I assisted in delivering content, answered student questions on course material, assigned students grades on projects and papers.

I was responsible for creating a user accessible R port of a statistical package written in python. The package was designed to do kernel regression with kernel optimizers to safe-guard against over-fitting. My work was to intellectually convert the code from pure object-oriented python to functional code in R, while keeping user experience as a high priority

I was contracted to produce high quality data visualizations for a long term study on cariboupopulations in Newfoundland. I produced the figures with R and edited them using vectorgraphics software. I also performed additional data curation and some statistical analysis to improve visualization efficacy.

I was a teaching assistant for chemistry and zoology. I assisted in preparing and delivering introductory material, helping students perform experiments and dissections, and helped answer any questions the students had on the course material
