About Christopher Hedges
I am a passionate and evidence driven physiotherapist. I have significant experience in working with Elite and Industrial Athletes throughout life. I believe everyone can improve their levels of health and fitness regardless of how long an injury or condition has been present. Often all that is needed is a balanced programme, an understanding of why this should be done and the encouragement and support to make it part of daily life.At the start of the Pandemic I moved over to Pure Physiotherapy to join the Primary Care Revolution with FCP and serve the NHS and people of my home county of Norfolk. It has been a real privilege to serve the NHS again after a decade hiatus. Its been a great challange helping to develop a new service and ensure patients with MSK pain are seen and managed effectively acutely as well as being able to provide evidence based care and health promotion to those managing longer-term conditions. As we head out of the lockdowns i am really excited about getting our Sports Clinic started and being able to help people recover from injuries and maximise there fitness for life. In 2019-20 I worked for IPRS Health. An Occupational Health Specialist where I have gained skill in workplace services, supporting health for work, but most importantly how to assist employees and employers in how to drive and maintain workforce health. Prior to this I have worked my whole career in the Elite Sports field across Football at Norwich City FC, . From 2009-2018 I was FP and YDP Lead Physiotherapist at NCFC, using clinical audit to inform Periodic Health Exams and injury prevention measures throughout the pathway years before the EPPP mandated this. I was also co-author on a world first research paper on bio-banding for maturation in Football. I was the promoted to Academy Head of Medicine the U23’s day to day care, whilst overseeing the Medical Processes throughout the Academy from EBP rehabilitation, to working closely with all parts of the Football MDT and developing continuity of the pathway from Academy to First Team.
