Performed over 200 preventive maintenance items on turbine generators, cooling watersystems, oil-water separators, feed and steam systems to ensure safe operation.• Operated two distilling plants, creating over 24,000 gallons of fresh water a day. Thisprovided the 5,000 sailors aboard the ship always had enough potable water, and allhydraulic and steam systems had the correct water levels to operate at all hours of theday.• During the inactivation of the USS Enterprise, quickly became and expert in theoperation of temporary defueling systems, including systems never before used on anyaircraft carrier, ensuring the continued success of Reactor Department.• In charge of maintaining and correcting the calibrations of over 200 pressure gages andthermometers, a program which started with over 50 gages out of calibration. In less thana month of being in charge, corrected all delinquent gages, and implemented a system whichallowed for easier methods of maintaining future calibrations.
