Primarily responsible for the management of digital forensic cases, exhibiting evidence, writing statements for court, supporting officers and presenting evidence in court as a forensic expert. I follow ACPO principles and ISO 17025 accredited standards of practice documentation. Involved in the writing and auditing ISO 17025 for the Data Forensic Unit (DFU). I have experience using a variety of forensic tools such as; Encase, Cellebrite, Nevis, IEF, FTK, X-Ways amongst others and am working to develop my skills in Python, networking, cloud computing and Crypto currencies.Worked alongside Tactical Surveillance Unit (TSU) on highly sensitive field operations to secure data under time constraints. Have also collaborated with other teams such as Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) on high profile operations working overtime to extract vital evidential data. Having worked closely with MCIT I have contributed to the creation of new, more efficient working procedures, where the utilisation of virtual exhibits has created an environment that allows for a more fluid working relationship between the DFU and MCIT. In addition to my case duties I have acted as the technical expert on different projects for the South West Forensic collaboration (SWF), most recently I was involved with the tender, workflow, training and roll-out for a cloud based kiosk system. Extracted and examined data from mobile devices using a variety of forensic tools and software including Graykey, Cellebrite and eMMC reads. Analysed applications using forensic software and SQLite queries to manually retrieve information not parsed by software tools where needed. As the team lead for the Mobile Device Unit, I carried out a daily briefing during which each team member would update the rest of the team on their current workload. This helped to direct and focus examinations, as well as identifying any problems colleagues were experiencing. I was personally responsible for Presentations delivered to the Crown Prosecution Service, Police Investigators and co-workers explaining technical concepts in layman's terms. This required a high level of flexibility as the different groups had different levels of competency.

The role required an intimate knowledge and understanding of ISO17025 in order to carry out extractions on every computer that came through the unit. Images of each storage device would be created using forensic software while also logging computer BIOS settings for the use of Computer Investigators. Extracting data from different Operating Systems required an in depth understanding of different filesystem data allocation processes.
