I am Gerald Christopher Hines but go by Chris. I have been blessed with three sons with whom I enjoy life: Taylor (31), Brendan (25) and Brayden (15). I love my boys and I Love Christ Jesus! Ever since I can remember I have had a relationship with Jesus. I remember that I would always take pride in treating others the way I wanted to be treated. I was always trying to promote Christ-like actions of love, kindness and humility with an exceptional work ethic. I was an athlete and played soccer, basketball and baseball while in High School. I then went to Palm beach Atlantic University, a Baptist University to play soccer and this is when I fell in love with the Baptist service and culture. I have had the honor and privilege of being the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Kankakee for three years from 2019-2022. This experienced has helped me grow spiritually and has helped His ministry flourish in me as I have answered His Call in me.  I am so grateful to be an Ordained American Baptist Minister and love the American Baptist Churches USA culture and pray to be able to increase my capacity of helping people build their faith. Their faith will help them through our daily struggles and triumphs as they face today’s world. With-in this high-tech, multi-media society we live in today, as pastors, we need to find new and creative ways to save the lost. I love teaching and preaching the Word of God as we see prophesy fulfilled. The Truth of the Word of God produces strength for the weak, energy for the weary, security for the insecure and love for the lonely. Being a Pastor has been the greatest experience I have ever had and can’t wait for the next assignment God has for me. I trust that His love, mercy and grace will lead my footsteps to exactly where I need to be to increase His Kingdom and help as many people as possible. I am very passionate, enthusiastic and committed to becoming a lighthouse for Christ as His humble servant leader.
