Chris practices in criminal law and has extensive advocacy experience. He practiced as a solicitor advocate for 5 years prior to coming to the Bar and appeared regularly in the Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts in summary and indictable matters, bail applications, contested hearings, committal hearings, pleas, and appeals. Chris also spent several years with the Fitzroy Legal Service in various capacities and is adept at working with a broad spectrum of clients with complex backgrounds and presentation. He has trial experience in the County Court and has appeared unled before the Court of Appeal. Chris is available to provide written advice in all criminal matters and has a particular interest in evidence and criminal procedure. Chris was also Associate to the Honourable Justice Christopher Beale in the Supreme Court of Victoria. During his time at the Court, Chris worked on criminal trials, matters involving the Office of the Chief Examiner, claims for public interest immunity, bail applications, pleas, and a significant number of applications in respect of the admissibility of evidence and judicial review matters.
