My main responsibilities include:- Assisting our customers when they were purchasing hardware, software, and other services- Holding software training courses in our UK office and at customer sites, both in the UK and abroad- Being involved in recruitment events, for example interviewing candidates and assessing technical presentations. I have also created internal training content and mentored new employees- Creating and presenting demos for customers when required- Attending marketing and sales eventsThis is the final part of the National Instruments ELP.

During my placement, I worked in Procurement for the international fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company Unilever. I was a Procurement Assistant for Closures and Assemblies operating in Europe. This meant I was responsible for managing roughly 120 contracts, with an approximate worth of 120 million pounds.My main responsibilities included:- Ensuring suppliers remained compliant with Unilever standards, for both Quality and Responsible Sourcing- Creating contracts and making sure suppliers sign them. This involved negotiations, tender processes and detailed cost/capacity calculations- Using cost models to analyse our portfolio for saving opportunities- Collecting supplier information, audit information, closure savings (information/analysis) and engineering drawings- Training my successor with the skills and information necessary for the role as procurement assistant- Working with suppliers to overcome challenges with capacity, machines, quality and costs​
