Provide Case Management for the WIA(Workforce Investment Act) Youth Programin Durham, NC

Responsible for coordinating services for youth ages 16-21 to assist in the attainment of Educational and Occupational skill goals. Provide guidance and counseling to ensure the attainment of each youths goals, and ensure that common measures for the program are met for organizational success.

Responsible for managing operations for Project P.R.I.D.E. youth program. Maintain reports for our governing body Capital Area Workforce Development Board. Supervise two Youth Program Specialist, and Remedial Education Tutor. Monitor services provided to ensure the attainment of Common Measures and negotiated performance outcomes.

Provide case management to youth enrolled in the Project P.R.I.D.E. youth program. In this capacity I worked as a case manager to connect participants with resources in the community to assist them in attaining educational and occupational goals.

As Program Coordinator I was responsible for supervising three staff (Two Case Managers. Remedial Education Instructor) for the Project PRIDE WIA (Workforce Investment Act) Program. I acted as the program liaison between our organization and the funding body Capital Area Workforce Development Board. In this position I also maintained performance measures to ensure that negotiated objectives per our grant were met and that all program activities were in compliance with WIA requirements. I was responsible for conducting employment interviews and posting employment opportunities within our program through Human Resources. I coordinated outreach efforts for the population that we served (youth ages 16-21), as well as planned workshops and served on the planning committee for the Capital Area Youth Summit. As Program Coordinator I prepared documents for quarterly monitoring and maintained in-house monitoring scheduling to ensure quality documentation and quality reporting at the state and local government level. Our program was grant funded through Capital Area Workforce Development Board which required me to draft proposals and projected outcome measures in order to ensure competitiveness for funding purposes during RFP periods. On a monthly basis I compiled data from case managers in regards to services provided, demographics, and outcomes for reports to submit to the governing entity. All purchase request and supportive service request were reviewed and approved by myself to ensure responsible fiscal practices were being followed by case managers.

Provide case management for participants in Project Ready. Administer TABE testing and engage participants in job readiness training as well as secondary school opportunities. Coordinate services for housing assistance as well as social aid.
