Chris was born 1966 in Newark, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (1987-93) where he received a Bachelors Degree in Architecture with secondary studies that concentrated on Urban Design and Geology. Chris also attended Ocean County College, New Jersey (1985-87) where he studied Design in the College of the Arts. Upon graduating in 1993, Chris obtained a position in the office of Rudy Hunzinker Architect, Tesserete, Switzerland (1994-95). Chris worked on various regional competitions and an Urban Design proposal for an abandoned Airport in the city of Ascona, Switzerland. During this time Chris also resided in Berlin, Germany for 5 months.Chris interned with mentor Olivio Ferrari in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland in 1990. He prepared renovation documents of a 17th century Italian Villa. Virginia Tech. has renovated the Villa and now uses the facility for its European Studies Program. Chris has traveled extensively through Europe and speaks basic German and Italian. In 1996, Chris obtained the position of Project Architect in the office of Michael Ryan Architects, Loveladies, New Jersey (1996-2005). The office concentrated on highly crafted residential projects that included complete interior and furniture design services. Chris’s role for each project was comprehensive through Design, Construction Documentation, Client Relations and Construction Management. Christopher Jeffrey Architects pllc was created in 2005 and has offices in both New York City and Hampton Bays, New York. The office brings together Chris’s extensive experience with his individual vision. The firm concentrates on progressive, sustainable design of all building types. The office maintains a studio atmosphere where each project is given unique focus and importance. The office also provides complete interior and furniture design services.
