Christopher Kavanagh has been at Deregallera over nine years and has played an instrumental role in setting up the Materials department. He received his doctorate from the University of St Andrews in 2013 where his PhD focused on the solid-state synthesis, structural and electrical characterisation of multiferroic materials. At Deregallera, he has worked on a range of materials for energy storage including synthesis and characterisation of thin films dielectrics, novel electroceramic composites, supercapacitors, and electrode materials for sodium batteries with an aim at developing disruptive technologies for the energy market.
