Senior Assistant Head Of Shared Financial Services – Information & ControlEnfield Primary Care Trust Aug 2002 - May 2008This role covered the management of 20 staff in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and Systems for 3 clients EPCT, HTPCT and BEHMHT. I was the driving force to improve all operational business processes, via the implementation of a new Finance System Agresso 5.4. This required an understanding of all business processes in all 3 Trusts, considerable data cleansing, interfaces, standardised documents, training notes and training courses. It took a year to build. We successfully went live on 1/4/2005.Teams required relocating, restructuring, and processes to be standardised and automated. Performance monitoring processes were set up, including Key Performance Indicators.I was also the Management Accountant for the shared Health Informatics Service with 80 staff and 3 clients. I devised powerful Excel models to generate regular month end management accounts incorporating activity based costing and automated forecasting and ensured the HIS covered all its costs each year.I carried out an in depth comparison between the Agresso system and the DOH’s preferred finance system SBS for the benefit of a local PCT DOF; the PCT had to replace their old system and chose to invest substantially in the Agresso system.I devised a new payroll financial interface from the PCTs new ESR system into Agresso.I switched all Trusts over from BACS to the BACSTEL-IP platform used by the Bank of England.I have been the Finance Staff Development Lead for the PCT. I have given talks on Agresso to other Shared Services in Bedfordshire and in Hertfordshire and additionally given presentations on NHS Finance to North London schools.

I protected the Trust from losing one of its key services and instead provided a case for increased investment income. I compiled the Trusts cost pressure schedule for 2002/03. I trained and set up the new Islington PCT provider team. I also completed the Trust’s Reference Costs return in less than a month.
