I am an aspiring librarian passionate about benefiting the community through the introduction of emerging technologies. Since the advent of the internet, we have experienced rapid technological advancement. Software and hardware alike has advanced, to the point that our status quo is change. It is my heartfelt belief that one of the greatest new benefits of the library is to aid those in the community with adapting to, and flourishing in, these ever changing times. Consequently, it is my intent to advance in a library environment and become an Emerging Technologies Specialist.In order to fulfill this role, I completed the MLIS program through San Jose State University, focusing when possible on courses that provided me insight into technological advancements and instructional design. I completed the MLIS program Summa Cuum Laude. Before and while taking this program, I have worked as a Library Departmental Aide (aka Library Page) for 4 years, during which I was relied on to redesign an outdated record sheet for a common library task. I also have extensive customer service experience which has given me a solid foundation interacting with patrons in even the worst of emotional states.While completing the MLIS program, I have developed a number of potential programs and program adaptations which may prove beneficial to public and academic libraries. I’m excited to share these ideas with anyone who is interested! Believe me, what I’ve thought of so far are only the beginning of what I can offer.
