Christopher L. Medley is a native of Chatham, VA. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in vocal performance from Virginia Tech. He matriculated into graduate school at Virginia Tech receiving a Masters of Arts in Education from the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Department with a cognate in Multiculturalism. His areas of research and practical interest within student affairs include male group dynamics/attitudes, religiosity, sexuality, fraternity/sorority life, and social inequality.He has worked previously has a paraprofessional and professional at various institutional types including urban, private, religious aligned and HBCUs: University of Mary Washington (UMW), Virginia Tech, Virginia Union University (VUU) and Washington & Lee University (W&L), North Carolina Central University (NCCU), University of Louisville (UofL), and currently serves as the Director for the Department of Housing & Residential Services at Fitchburg State University. Mr. Medley transition to Fitchburg State University, August 2018 as the chief housing officer. He looks forward to the collaborative efforts within the university to cultivate an environment where all students can thrive to be their authentic selves.Leading first by serving, he holds membership within several professional and service organizations including American College Personnel Association, Brothers of the Academy Institute, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and Prince Hall Free & Accepted Masons, Inc.
