My current role is overseeing the outbound shipments from our 9 Michigan yards, and 1 Canadian yard into various steel mills in Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario. I coordinate with several large carriers, and several independent owner operators to make sure we ship out our monthly contracts in a timely manor. This can range from 40 - 100 runs per day. In addition to this, I also coordinate our Non Ferrous material that often goes over the road to West Virginia, Pennsylvanian, Ohio, Indiana, Ontario, and other places in and around the Midwest. These are high value shipments that happen less frequent than the Ferrous Material. Working with the sales team, and upper management I also do process oversight that includes; metrics, contract negotiation, corrective actions with carriers or yards, and how to improve the strength and value of our supply chain.
