Head Golf Professional
Owatonna, Minnesota, Us
My job as the PGA Head Professional at Owatonna Country Club was to manage the entire golf operation side of the business. This included the day to day operation which was daily play, the golf shop and member services. Daily play included our regular golf, tournaments, both member and non-member, charity events and special events including junior golf and leagues. The OCC golf shop grew to become one of the largest gross revenue shops in Southern Minnesota. I had the challenge of managing the flow of inventory, while keeping the membership happy with a balance of new product that fit a wide variety of tastes in clothing and hard goods such as clubs and balls.Member services was the most crucial aspect of my position because it required me to provide services to our membership that would show them enough value in the club for them to retain their memberships. These services included individual and group lessons, programs for family golf, fun days and events as well as highly personalize attention for each member. They needed to be new and fresh and things that people could not experience outside of the OCC.My time at the Owatonna Country Club was very special to me. I have built hundreds of relationships that will last a lifetime and the skills I learned have helped me forge a path in my career that I could have only learned through the golf business and what I did in my time at OCC.
