In support of the DOL 2014-2018 Strategic Plan and OSHA Operating Plan, Strategic Objectives 2.1 & 3.2, I serve as the OSHA Information Security Officer, responsible for establishing and administering an OSHA enterprise-wide IT security program consistent with DOL, legislative and regulatory requirements.

In the capacity of Subject Matter Expert (SME) Computer Systems Security, Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Mr. Lavender supports the Department of Justice (DOJ), United States National Central Bureau (USNCB) of INTERPOL, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to apply security process improvement and reengineering methodologies and principles to conduct modernization projects. He is responsible for executing all certification and accreditation activities for the INTERPOL Washington Unified Communications Cloud O365 project utilizing DOJ’s Cyber Security and Assessment Management (CSAM) tool. Mr. Lavender is also the Team Lead with task management and supervisor oversight for 12 Information Assurance Engineers assigned to Department of Justice (DOJ) Information Technology Security Staff (ITSS) Program Management Office (PMO) supporting various agencies and divisions within the DOJ.

In the capacity of Information Technology Security Project Manager, Mr. Lavender supported the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), with providing ongoing IT infrastructure, application, and compliance service in support of the Chief Information Security Officer for the entire S&T Directorate. Mr. Lavender is responsible for providing management and technical oversight for a team of six security professionals in distinctive task areas that include System Compliance Management, Security Assessment and Testing, Penetration Testing, and Static Code Review.
