About Christopher Leins

Linked-In advises me to write a summary, so: Thirty-four years as a soldier, four years with State Department. Did a lot of stuff and worked with great people. Made some mistakes and mostly survived them. Now I am able to do what I want. Currently, that means getting my PhD in a subject I find fascinating and still relevant: the American military in World War I. Relevance may be due to my age--100 years ago doesn't seem so far away anymore. But the American era from roughly 1875 to 1919 is incredibly interesting. I won't give away the story by telling you why, though. Go look it up. Meanwhile, I hope to complete my dissertation successfully and then write a more readable history of US Army leadership in WWI.
