RUMA provides leadership on the responsible use of medicines in farm animals which includes antibiotics. Its work is helping to develop a UK livestock industry which is innovative and proactive in efforts to continually improve the responsibility with which medicines are being used to ensure good animal health and associated welfare. It works to ensure confidence amongst stakeholders including government and the public that the industry is fully engaged on issues of responsible use and is ‘doing things right’.

I currently work for a select group of clients offering my 30 years of experience in the sheep and beef sector alongside knowledge of not for profit organisations.

I worked for the levy board for 14 years, specialising in knowledge transfer and training packages for farmers. My background is in the beef and sheep industry. I developed the Better Returns Programme which offered technical material and tools to farmers, and was adopted by the beef and lamb levy board as their knowledge transfer brand until a recent AHDB restructure. As well as technical experience of the ruminant sectors I gained experimence as a project manager and have managed teams of people.
