During the summer of 2022 I was a research assistant in USC's Hazards, Vulnerability, and Resilience Institute (HVRI). In this position, I helped calculate and map hazard risk, future annual hazard probability, and hazard frequency intervals for all South Carolina counties to be included in the 2023 South Carolina Hazard Mitigation Plan. This work was contracted by the South Carolina Emergency Management Department (SCEMD). I also worked on a separate project contracted by the South Carolina Office of Resilience (SCOR). For this project, I determined geographic patterns in recovery progression from Hurricane Matthew and the 2015 floods.
