Christopher M. Hays is President of Scholar Leaders, a ministry dedicated to cultivating theological leaders from around the globe for lifetimes of impact in the Church and societies. He holds a DPhil in New Testament studies from the University of Oxford and served for eight years as a professor of New Testament at the Fundación Universitaria Seminario Bíblico de Colombia in Medellín. He also was the Director of the Faith and Displacement project in Colombia. Before becoming a missionary scholar, he was a wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Universität Bonn and British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow on the Faculty of Theology at the University of Oxford. In addition, Christopher is a fellow of the Centre for Enterprise, Markets, and Ethics, an Oxford-based think-tank; he is also a research associate of the Department of New Testament at the University of Pretoria. He is (co-)author or editor of When the Son of Man Didn't Come (Fortress, 2016), Renouncing Everything (Paulist, 2016), Luke’s Wealth Ethics (Mohr Siebeck, 2010) and the co-editor of Evangelical Faith and the Challenge of Historical Criticism (SPCK/Baker Academic, 2013) and of Sensitivity to Outsiders (Mohr Siebeck, 2014), as well as various works in Spanish. His research interests include migration, Muslim-Christian engagement, eschatology, and Christian wealth ethics.
