General ManagerSpread Eagle Hotel Feb 2012 - Nov 2014Shortly after my redundancy at Sea France I was delighted to take up the position of Conference and Events Manager at The Spread Eagle Hotel. This 24 bed hotel was set in the historic market town of Witham and was used mainly by business guests. In this role I became solely responsible for the hiring out of the conference / meeting rooms and all hotel events to include private events such as birthdays and weddings through to corporate events including conferences and product launches. I built up a strong working relationship with various local businesses and contractors as well as attending regional fairs and exhibitions to promote our services. Further I also liaised successfully with other areas of the hotel to ensure a perfect service to our clients and guests every time. In addition to this I also in June 2012 took on the role of food and beverage manager in conjunction with my events role. This involved all aspects of running the bar and restaurant areas from staff management, financial management and stock control.I was also further promoted in May 2014 to become General Manager of the hotel on a temporary basis

Food Beverage ManagerSea France Plc Jul 2008 - Feb 2012Although it was a hard decision to leave The Fox Inn after the work completed, my move to Sea France was an obvious career progression. Working onboard the flagship of the company, and responsible for over fifty staff in multiple onboard sites, I successfully set about adopting a new culture onboard. On arrival, there was a distinct clique of French and English staff who did not tend to mix. I used my experience gained at The Fox Inn to rid the team of cliques, and also used my experience gained to develop a more detailed training program, both together were instrumental in raising the morale onboard. Responsible for the day to day and project managementonboard, I took a keen interest in stock control and training issues. This enabled me to reduce stock wastage by 132% and also enable the staff to feel substantially more valued within the company. Shortly after my arrival as Assistant Manager I was promoted to manager due to the managers resignation. I became responsible for a multi national team of 90+ staff in various on board outlets.I was made redundant in February 2012 due the collapse of the company.

Bar ManagerThe Fox Inn May 2005 - Jun 2008In May 2005, I was delighted to follow the manager of the Old Anchor to The Fox, and also accept a promotion to Assistant Manager. I became responsible for the day to day management of the site, which included the management of six full time, and twelve part time members of staff front of house, with a further three full time staff in the Kitchen area. My initial plans when arriving at The Fox Inn were to develop a team who had become disillusioned under the previous management. I wrote and delivered a detailed training plan, and also developed one on one ?development sessions? for staff to encourage a more transparent working atmosphere between management and staff. In turn this also boosted morale and stock wastage also fell during this period by over 76%. My time at The Fox Inn enabled me to develop my skills from supervision to management, and also enabled my man management skills to flourish.
