Dear LinkedIn Connections, I am Christopher Mata, a first-year student at the School of Medicine and Surgery, 24 years old. My multicultural background and experiences in different countries have profoundly shaped my worldview and my approach to life and work. These experiences have taught me the importance of intercultural understanding, adaptability, and openness to new ideas and perspectives. I have had the opportunity to engage in a variety of academic, professional, and community activities. Among my professional achievements, I graduated from Andrews University with a degree in Psychology and Criminology. During my time at Andrews, I held various leadership roles that enriched my experience and skills. I was active in the Medical Club, where I held leadership positions, contributing to the development and organization of activities for the benefit of the student community. I served as a Student Senator for the university, representing and advocating for the interests of my fellow students. I was the Drama Director for the Latino club Makarios, participating in the promotion of culture and art within the university community. My commitment to leadership also manifested in the spiritual realm, where I had the honor of being the worship team leader at the university. This experience allowed me to merge my passion for music with my commitment to faith, inspiring others through worship and music. I have been a leader both in school and church. In high school, I was the captain of the soccer team and held the position of class pastor, demonstrating leadership skills and empathy toward my peers. My Christian faith has been a fundamental pillar in my life, guiding me towards service and social action. My commitment to the church led me to participate in numerous community projects, such as preparing meals for the homeless and conducting missionary work to help needy families.In recognition of my youth leadership, I was named leader of the Michigan Adventist Youth Association in 2017. Additionally, in 2022, I had the privilege of being one of the founders of Genesis Church.After my university graduation, I decided to follow my passion for justice and human well-being by working in jail as a police officer and behavioral therapist. This experience allowed me to apply my knowledge in psychology and criminology to help individuals in difficult situations, reaffirming my commitment to service and community improvement.
