I am currently a Rail Fleet Services Manager at Los Angeles County Metro, for Heavy Rail. I have been with LA Metro for four years. I started at the Santa Monica Division, then the only RFS Supervisor at the new Crenshaw/LAX start up. Now I'm the RFS Manager at the B/D lines (formerly Red/Purple subway lines) My daily duties include coordinating three different shifts, various contractors, and working with other departments within Metro. Previously I worked for Utah Transit Authority. Started as a bus mechanic and after three years, moved to commuter rail as a mechanic. Five years later, I promoted to Bus Maintenance Supervisor at the division where I started. I worked on various projects that focused on equipment and repair improvements. I would find ways to repair obsolete components, upgrade components to minimize or eliminate breakage. These would lower repair costs, and increase the value of service to the rider and the tax payer. I would supervise multiple shifts, different work groups, and work at multiple divisions. I conducted interviews for internal and external job postings. Before I entered the Public Transportation sector, I worked for Sky's Extreme Offroad, that later became BC Customs. I was a mechanic, fabricator, and customer service. I would; manufacture suspension systems, R&D, body armor, roll cages, differential and drive train modification, along with ground up competition buggy builds. I would work with customers to decide what modifications worked best for their vehicles according to their budgets and any necessary trouble shooting. My education started at Weber State University. I earned two associates degrees; the Chrysler Automotive Program and the Body Service Education Program. I graduated in 2008 with my third degree, Bachelors of Science in Automotive Technology. While at UTA I received several certificates for HVAC and Welding.
