Work closely with Marine businesses to understand the opportunities, threats and barriers to growth that exist and to identify where Government has a legitimate role in helping to create long-term, sustainable value for the industry and for the wider UK economy. Drive forward actions and deliver against the Marine Industries Growth Strategy. Develop strategic actions around key themes to enable UK marine industries to seize future market opportunities, enable companies to grow their market share, and help rebalance the UK economy. Collaborating with other Government departments, and public and private sector bodies to co-create solutions that deliver maximum benefit to companies throughout the UK in the key areas of:• Identifying the priorities for marine technology and innovation investments by Government and industry- for example Maritime Autonomous Systems• UK Exports- creating a strategy for identifying high value markets where the UK has strong capabilities and developing mechanisms for unlocking routes in to these markets.• Development of a unified voice and supporting image for the Marine and Maritime Industries (underpinned by common statistics and data).• Development of a skills roadmap focused on delivering the long-term skills which will be required by industry• Exploiting the potential for offshore renewables based industries
