My job is very straight forward. My job is to run the store in the absence of the manager and assistant manager. I am a key holder and I open the store and close it at night. I run the shipping and receiving both warehouse shipment and transfer between stores. I count down the registers at night and prepare the deposits, and deposit the money and make change on the days I open the store. I am usually supervising two to three people at a time. I delegate jobs and make sure that the daily tasks are determined, assigned, and completed by the sales associates and myself. Some of the other duties I have include making sales quotas, up selling, knowing my products and customers, and being able to connect the customers with products they want, and products they didn't know they wanted.

I started working summers as a festival worker. We sold Scottish related items at Scottish festivals all over the southeast. I started with tent set up (20x20), unloading truck, and setting up the displays and tables. After a few years I ended up with my own truck. At that point I was responsible for purchasing merchandise, procuring new merchandise, loading and unloading warehouse and truck, hiring of workers, transport to the festivals, and maintaining equipment and merchandise. Part of the procuring methods included traveling to different states and regions to find small artisans and rare products for our business.

I am responsible for fronting the store shelves, stocking, cleaning, and other duties. I am able to run a fork lift (hand pallet and electric pallet) and use the cardboard compacter. I worked the overnight shift. There wasn't a lot of customer interaction due to the store being closed. I was assigned to grocery shelves, which did not include housewares or produce.

Little Rock, Arkansas

I was a CNA/RNA and van driver. My duties included patient/resident care, ADLs, and rehabilitation to the residents. After 6 months I was promoted to the van. I was responsible for the scheduling, logistics, maintenance, paperwork, and cleanliness of a 3 vehicle fleet. I had a van capable of transporting 3 residents and a wheelchair, a bus capable of 8 passengers plus 2 wheelchairs, and a small sedan for the mobile residents available 24/7. I had other duties at the facility that included mail pick up and delivery, concierge desk, coffee and cappuccino machine maintenance, and social activities (my most popular one was homemade root beer and floats).

Little Rock, Arkansas

I was responsible for patient care. Unlike the nursing homes, this job focused on health related issues instead of ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). The main focus was the health of the patient due to the severity of their medical conditions. Focus was on vital signs, sanitation, emergency response, lab collection and documentation, phlebotomy, and adhering to the patient's care plan. On Medical Specialties (my main floor) our focus was infectious control. Our patients all had an antibiotic resistant strain of bacteria or virus. We were the Tuberculosis, Cystic Fibrosis, and Acinetobacter center. I also worked on the the Multiple Myeloma (incurable but treatable bone cancer) floor. The Winthrop P. Heber Springs, Arkansas

I was responsible for resident/patient care. This included bathing, feeding, bathroom duties, and other Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). On the medical side I was responsible for keeping up to date on CPR, first aid, monitoring of vital signs, reporting abnormalities to the nurse, working with team to facilitate order and structure in an otherwise chaotic environment. As an Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA) I was responsible for the upkeep of the rehabilitation program. After a resident finished the rehab's program (or did not qualify for it), I continued the exercise, walking, and other physical therapy methods to maintain the resident's ability to function for ADLs. As the van driver, It was simply transporting residents safely from our facility to the hospitals and appointments. This also included emergency trips to and from the hospital 24/7.
