Dr. Christopher Mikhail is a member of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with the sole focus on treating disorders of the spine. He is focused on healing complex spinal pathologies, including spinal deformities such as scoliosis, congenital anomalies, degenerative scoliosis, failed back surgery, flat back syndrome, kyphosis, and complex cervical deformity; as well as spinal tumors, thoracic disc herniations and craniocervical junction pathologies. Dr. Mikhail's expertise in spinal deformity surgery, as well as robotics and navigation, allow him to utilize the most advanced technology for preoperative surgical planning with artificial intelligence, in order to execute surgical plans with the highest accuracy. Additionally, his use of minimally invasive techniques allows for less tissue trauma, post operative pain and quicker recoveries. Dr. Mikhail has published extensively in peer reviewed journals of both Orthopedic and Neurological Spine surgery. In addition to this, he serves on the Grant proposal committee for the Scoliosis Research Society (the premier spinal deformity organization). He has also written a number of text book chapters, including techniques in spine surgery and operating room design and efficiency to enhance use of robotics and navigation.
