My major focus is in pursuing the knowledge to give me the building blocks for an enriching IT career. I love to interact with people, so I'm currently focusing on networking.I have had many customer service positions outside of IT, making me realize that I enjoy working with others to solve their problems and make them satisfied with the service provided.I attended Porter and Chester's IT program, which gave me some networking fundamentals regarding hardware, networking tools, how networks operate, including protocols, ports, and how the seven-layer networking model works. I am able to execute basic networking commands in Windows, and troubleshoot a network in a small-scale environment.I build and PCs and troubleshoot software and application issues. I am knowledgeable in all hardware components for general client machines. I began by wanting to have a more powerful PC at a better price point. My solution was to build my own computer, which ultimately taught me how to build and troubleshoot hardware on a PC.I also know most Windows operating systems and how to troubleshoot problems, scan for viruses, malware, and root kits. I have general security knowledge and know how to effectively use software for the security and maintenance, installing small networks, routers, modems, and firewall configurations. I am currently attending Tech Foundry to broaden my IT knowledge. Tech Foundry is a mentoring program started by Delcie Bean, founder and CEO of Paragus IT. Tech Foundry offers lessons taught by top-industry leaders in various IT fields, as well as provides internship opportunities where participants can work in the field.
