In this new role I am able to take on higher complexity work as well as obtain and control spending for my projects. My primary job responsibilities include characterizing materials and providing technical input for manufacturing process development, failure analysis and investigation, supplier development, product risk analysis, and new product and technology development. In my position I am responsible for materials including cosmetic and corrosion protective paints, adhesives used for structural bonding and electrical insulation, glass fiber-reinforced thermosetting plastics used for structural support and electrical insulation, unknown particulate and liquids analysis, polymeric gaskets and O-rings, and stator water chemistry.In addition to specifying and overseeing industry standard mechanical, chemical, and thermal testing, I design and validate unique ad-hoc experiments for product validation or for validating a suspected failure mechanism.I am responsible for relaying complex technical information to both peer technical and non-technical audiences, and I enjoy making material behavior accessible to my target audience.I am also involved in creative projects to improve our business regarding employee feedback, creating new business opportunities, and encouraging creative problem solving.

In this role I primarily performed material testing under the guidance of expert materials engineers.Performed a variety of mechanical and chemical testing.

I was paid to develop Matlab code which integrated instrument controls and measurements from several devices used in femtosecond laser spectroscopy. I wrote class-based (object-oriented) code which also integrated with a custom-built graphical user interface (all through Matlab). I programmed CCD's, monochromators, and stage controls to achieve a specific goal of auto-correlating the laser pulses in an automated fashion. I used various libraries as well as serial commands to issue commands to the instruments and collect, manipulate, and display data in real-time.

During college, I worked at a physical help-desk to support students with IT problems, including network connectivity, laptop/desktop performance issues, password resets for various services, and data recovery.

I performed laboratory tests including chemical, mechanical, and electrical testing of various materials for power generation products.
