• Coordinating the preparation of required agency reports and documents. Coordinating the implementation of DES administrative policy in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.• Providing research and analysis regarding flexibilities in state and federal law that may allow for process improvements. Work with counterparts within and external to DES to assess and propose an implementation for best practices.• Providing technical assistance to GIA staff regarding policy-making while analyzing and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and statewide policies.• Reviewing and editing drafts, providing procedural and technical advice regarding proposed administrative and programmatic policies.• Conducting legal research on various issues as required by GIA leadership, including review and analysis of pending legislation.• Conducting special projects/studies and interacting with DES staff, other state agencies, community members, and public groups concerning topics or problems affecting the agency.• Conducting legal research on various issues as required by GIA Leadership, including review and analysis of pending legislation.• Developing auxiliary materials to build the DES policy library and assisting staff with understanding DES administrative policies, including policy bulletins, webinars, and manuals as applicable.• Work with Division policy staff, as requested, to draft communication with external stakeholders, such as federal partners, related to high-profile policy issues.• Serve as GIA Open Meeting Law Coordinator.
