I am the founder and owner of Get Philosophical. A philosophical counselling practice based in the UK offering free consultations, 1:1 philosophical counselling sessions, courses and executive philosophical consultancy services.

In this role I am both an academic mentor and a teaching a assistant for the foundation year department at Keele university.As an academic mentor it is my job to look after the academic needs of my some 25 mentees with regards to their personal and academic wellbeing. This involves having regular meetings and email contact with mentees to discuss any concerns they may have about life at university and sign posting to the appropriate university services to accomidate for any and all issue presented by the mentees. To have regular faculty meetings to discuss approtches towards foundation year stratagies towards improving engagment for students and general administrative duties such as GDPR and book keeping.As a teaching assistant I help to create and deliver content on the "Foundations of Humanities 2" module and on the "Introduction to Philosophy" module. This involves attending lectures, seminars and workshops both in-situ and online as well as helping to manage the tasks and assesments given to students including responsing to student emails and marking students work.

This role involves attending workshops and leading group discussions for Keele Universities foundation year students for a module called; "Foundations of Social Sciences - 1". This is a module which covers important social dilemma's such as poverty, social prejudice, systemic racism, an overview of political systems such as capitalism vs socialism and other important contemporary social issues.My role is to answer any questions students have relating to relevant texts, clearing up any misunderstandings about the content, helping to guide students through basic higher education reading and writing techniques such as how to properly read academic texts, how to cite academic texts and how to take effective notes etc.I am also there as an ambassador for foundation year students as a former foundation year student, now studying a masters degree. As such I am also there to answer any questions students may have about what to expect through their academic career and how the process of progression takes place throughout undergraduate level up to post graduate level.

This position had me attending lectures and seminars for the introduction to philosophy module on the foundation year at Keele university.I was there to advise about academic philosophy as well as answer students questions from students in person or by email and to help coordinate content and timetabling with the head of the module.It was also my role to help mark the assessments and provide helpful feedback to the students on their work and how they can improve moving forward.

I am currently the President of the Keele University Philosophy Society. This role involves being the weekly discussion leader of our meeting on topics related to Philosophy. I am also in charge of managing the meeting locations, organising meets and events we may have, leading the committee meetings as and when necessary, writing up and getting approval for risk assessments and naturally my role as President entails all the same responsibilities as the rest of the committee such as following university policies and safe guarding of members.
