An innovative, dual-language high school founded in 1996 to provide college preparatory education to inner-city Latinos not able to afford a private, Catholic education. Through a pioneering employment program, students work in prestigious corporations five days a month which covers 75% of student tuition. The winner of numerous awards and featured on a “60 Minutes” television special, the Cristo Rey model is currently being replicated across the country based on this original, Chicago model. A co-principal and part of the six person leadership team responsible for establishing and executing school policies. Oversight of seven departments/individuals and their budgets: Admissions, Counseling, Deans of Students, Community Outreach, Medical Clinic, Student Activities, Technology. Developed school-wide advisory and therapeutic structures to care holistically for students. Implemented new discipline framework inclusive of parents and faculty. Restructured Admissions process.
