• Manage inspection resources within a defined business area with regards to both allocated work scopes and professional development.• Oversee monitored training of inspection engineers within a business area to enable the compiling of evidence leading to Letter Of Authority sign off.• Manage both scheduled and reactive workloads to ensure continued legal compliance.• Approve both Written Schemes of Examinations and inspection reports. • Lead inspection based projects which improve the quality of inspections carried out.• Continually assess the department inspection efficiency and implement ways to improve on it. • Source and allocate inspection equipment which includes technically assessing products to ascertain their suitability and comparing prices to get the best value. • Within authorised limits, execute mechanical equipment & pipework inspections to achieve full compliance with legal requirements and site inspection standards.• Define the scope for and develop Written Schemes of Examination, emphasising equipment degradation mechanisms, specifying services (e.g. scaffolding & insulation) requirements to achieve full compliance with site inspection standards, legal requirements and business goals for asset integrity, efficiency and effectiveness.• Develop inspection plans to match legal requirements, site standards, plant availabilities and business TAR programs.• Perform physical inspections, plan and co-ordinate NDT and specialist support services, and produce and review inspection reports to meet plans agreed with the asset teams.• Provide technical inspection information for asset inspection postponements when required, including robust and concise inspection histories and guidance to the asset as to the suitability of any postponement request. • Highlight repairs to restore ‘fit for purpose’ condition and recommend inspection intervals to achieve legal compliance and business integrity goals.

• Lead technician co-ordinating and planning all site based tube exchanger inspections using specialised NDT techniques including Eddy Current, Centest and IRIS (Internal Rotary Inspection System).• Develop and execute all specialist exchanger tube inspection plans for turnaround events including the supervision of all technicians and being accountable to the turnaround inspection lead engineer.• Recording, organising and evaluating test results and generating comprehensive specialist NDT reports.
