Health Watch Foundation operating as Nigeria Health Watch is currently implementing the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, MSD for Mothers, Solution Journalism Network, Ford Foundation and the Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) Projects. I am currently accountable for its financial and risk management operations. This includes developing a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve organization’s assets and report accurate financial results.Internal Controls & Processes:-I ensure proper preparation for all audits.-Maintain, review and revise internal controls to ensure the safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements.-Establish and monitor systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company's value.-Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.-Enforce compliance with proper accounting procedures and HWF's policies and escalate non-compliance issues to the Managing Director when appropriate.Financial Reporting and Analysis:-Oversee the preparation of internal reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including both operating reports and financial reports-Oversee the integrity of the General Ledger, transaction reporting, and the balance sheet on a real-time basis, ensuring that all reconciliations and accruals are accurate and reviewed on a timely basis-Oversee the preparation of financial reports and certificates, as required by the internal and external stakeholders.Planning and budgeting:-Participate in strategic and business planning for the Organization.-Coordinate the setting and monitoring of performance against financial goals and objectives.-Provide overall leadership and management of the annual budgeting process and any interim re-evaluation processes

On this role, I provide leadership and coordination in the organization’s business planning, accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting efforts.

On this role, I was responsible for all matters related to the finance, operations, and administration of the Society for Family Heath's USAID, DFID and Global Fund project in Makurdi, Benue state office. This include but not limited to:-I ensure compliance and consistency with the organization’s policies and procedures, as well as compliance with the terms and conditions of the agreements with the donor’s best practices.-Timely review and processing of all vendor payments-Timely review of CBOs disbursement request and reported expenditure-Record and account daily transactions on SAP and ensure accuracy and completeness of required files and supporting documentation that serves as evidence of transactions.-Process cash disbursements in accordance with financial management policies and established approval levels.-Prepare monthly financial reports for the state containing budget to actual expenditure information (variance analysis).-Perform monthly bank reconciliations of state project bank account.-Responsible for procurement activities within the state in accordance with the organization’s procurement policy.-Prepare and submit reports and tax filings in compliance with regulatory requirements.-Aid program staff in office and project budget preparation.-Responsible for all matters related to the operations and administration of state office.-Manage assets within the state (CBOs and state office) to ensure adequate maintenance.
