This was a inbound call center specializing in video repair support for residential customers. After a 3 week classroom training and a week of nesting, I was set loose on the call floor to begin helping people fix their cable. After becoming a customer service expert, I utilized skills and knowledge gained in training to effectively guide any person through troubleshooting steps over the phone and assess the need for a technician appointment to be scheduled. The queue was ongoing so first call resolution and speed were crucial in managing staffing and average time waiting. We had competitive monthly team meetings to discuss performance in categories of first call resolution, average handle time, average wait time, and after call survey results.
