I help develop the vision, engage prospective customers and create the infrastructure. I bring teams together, motivating people and getting them on the same page. With two partners, I started a hedge fund in 2005 during a challenging investment environment. We had developed automated trading systems and determined these systems could function as an independent, stand-alone fund. Working with consultants, I developed the full-fledged hedge fund structure, established financial controls and designed the fund offering. After launching the fund with $5M raised from friends and family, I identified and met with potential clients and established credibility and trust. Despite challenging market conditions and prominent hedge fund scandals, I led our marketing effort which grew our assets to over $100M and generated positive annual performance in seven of eight years. I also established a European office for our Chicago-based trading and software firms in Switzerland. I helped navigate through the intense scrutiny of regulatory licensing by working with our advisors and consultants to fully understand all requirements and gaining the trust and respect of the Swiss regulators. I managed all risk and trading activity. As the firm evolved to include software development, I directed our sales effort in Europe which focused on institutional clients.
