• Introduced a music ministry to connect with students and provide an outlet for creative expression. Incorporates audio and video tools into the Music Appreciation curriculum to increase engagement.
• Established a recording booth that enables students to perform and record music, drama and poetry. To date, more than 100 students have participated in producing 760 individual CDs.

• Instructed continuing education students preparing for the GED exam. Provides pre-college and career counseling to increase enrollment and improve program completion.
• Oversees recruitment and registration of Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Educational Development (GED) students, maintaining enrollment records for the Department of Education.

• Helped found the church and led worship services in the Pastor’s absence. Served as Head of the Search Committee for the new Pastor, member of the Deacon Board and the Board of Trustees.
• Selected and directed hymns during worship services, led the church choir and performed as soloist. Coordinated special music events and supervised the music media ministry.

• In a new grant-funded position, co-directed CT’s Parent Involvement Resource Center, collaborating with family, education and faith communities and multiple state agencies to implement family-focused initiatives to.

Hartford, CT

• Provided academic training and employment preparation support to community members to improve economic independence. Redesigned the computer learning center and maintained the department’s Management Information System.

New Britain, CT

• Conducted statewide recruitment of African American and Latino students. To facilitate enrollment, provided admissions advising and created a directory of financial aid resources.
• Served as liaison between school administration and students, advocating on behalf of the at-risk population to promote academic achievement, and improve retention and graduation rates.
