Based within Prime Brokerage Operations in Glasgow, I provide support to our International Prime Brokerage Business Unit, across both Equity and Fixed Income products. My responsibilities within the team include liaising with various internal and external stakeholders daily, including the business unit, hedge fund clients, brokers, stock loan, controls, corporate actions, network management and settlements. It is a high risk, exciting environment, working to tight deadlines, which are both client and market driven. My role allows me direct client coverage and responsibility for my own client base. Within this model, my role allows me to conduct a number of key processes including break investigation, fails investigation and various other trade related activities. Additionally, this is a crucial client facing role that gives me the opportunity to make client process improvements which ultimately supports both Morgan Stanley and the client.

As part of the Prime Brokerage team in Glasgow, supporting New York and London Business Units, I was responsible for the daily processing of trade, settlement, and payment related functions for global clients. This included being responsible for providing first class service and query resolution for several clients over various products for global markets. This role also allowed me the scope to work closely with global stakeholders including the Prime Brokerage Desk Assistant teams, Business Units, and senior management across the firm. As well as liaising and communicating with global stakeholders and various operational groups, a high focus was process management of various client related functions within specified timescales. Additionally, identification and timely escalation of risk items to management was a key part of my job role while also ensuring procedures are accurate, relevant and adhered too, proactively contributing towards the drive to improve process efficiency through root cause analysis
