I led a team of Used Car Managers and Merchandisers that was responsible for the used vehicle inventory for a group of seven dealerships in Fairfield and Vallejo, CA. Our brands included Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Infiniti and Kia. My fellow Used Car Managers and I worked with the General Manager of each store to develop a pricing and marketing strategy, as well as help them maintain their pricing using the vAuto Used Vehicle Marketing tool. We were responsible for working with outside marketing vendors including Auto Trader, Cars.com and vAuto to monitor each store's performance, relative to their goals. My duties included disposing of thirty to forty wholesale units at auction each week, performing trade appraisals, training team members and offering guidance, when requested at each store. I also worked with the Used Car Director/Buyer to determine inventory mix and distribution to the individual franchises. The team that I led was responsible for the check in and distribution of vehicles to each store, monitoring mechanical and cosmetic reconditioning, lot arrangement and maintenance, vehicle photos and marketing materials, and compliance with local, federal and state laws.
