My role is diverse and can encompass various tasks tailored to the specific needs of the school environment.I assist teachers by helping with instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and facilitating small group or one-on-one instruction. I also provide additional help to students who require individualized attention due to learning disabilities, language barriers, or other challenges.In addition to classroom support, I supervise students during various activities such as lunch, recess, and field trips, ensuring their safety and adherence to school rules. I assist teachers in preparing instructional materials, setting up classroom displays, and organizing learning resources.Part of my responsibilities includes collecting and recording student data for assessment purposes and maintaining records of student progress and behavior. Collaboration is key, as I work closely with teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies for student success.In some cases, I work with students who have special needs, providing additional assistance and accommodations as outlined in their individualized education plans (IEPs) or 504 plans.Overall, my role as a para-educator is essential in supporting the educational needs of students and ensuring they have the resources and assistance necessary to thrive in the classroom.
