At Jansen Strawn, I manage a portfolio of residential and commercial real estate development projects ranging from 500 lot subdivisions to small commercial/retail sites.

Christiansburg, Va

At Balzer & Associates I prepare construction documents for a broad range of commercial and residential land development projects throughout Southwestern Virginia. Typical project designs include detailed stormwater management analysis, site grading and geometric layout plans, utility plans, and sediment and erosion control plans. As part of the approval process, I also prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and permit applications necessary to obtain land disturbance permits. I work closely with our survey department and on-site construction personnel to ensure compliance with the approved construction documents.

Princeton, Wv

While at Stafford Consultants, Incorporated I prepared construction documents for large scale water and sewer infrastructure projects including water distribution and sewage collection systems, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and site development plans for commercial and industrial projects. I also worked with municipal clients to evaluate their existing infrastructure, develop project alternatives, and prepare long range plans for replacement and/or upgrades. I also prepared in-depth preliminary engineering reports evaluating various alternatives based on net present worth analysis. These reports would later serve as the basis for funding applications for local, state, and federal funds. Once funded, I provided bidding and negotiating services including distribution to bidders, addendum issuance, and evaluation of bid. Once awarded I provided construction administration services through issuance of the Notice of Acceptability. I also performed a significant amount of business development while at Stafford. I identified key personnel within target organizations and began to build lasting relationships. I also prepared detailed proposals outlining underlying issues and identified key company features/benefits which would contribute to their success.

While employed at VIKA I prepared construction documents for a commercial, industrial, and residential land development projects in the District of Columbia Metropolitan area. My team mainly focused on residential and commercial development within the District of Columbia. Typical design plans included stormwater management, site grading, sediment and erosion control, and geometric layout plans. I also prepared detailed traffic control and utility plans. To meet local and regional stormwater management requirements, I also designed a number of large stormwater detention ponds accommodating future development of 50+ acres. I also completed a number of public sector improvement projects including city streets and large utility relocation projects.
