I currently work across all Portfolios at Hames Sharley and as the National Director for the Urban Development Portfolio. I perform the role of strategic leader for Advisory, Strategic Planning, Stat planning, Urban Design and placemaking. I also undertake a strategic managerial role as a Director, Board member and shareholder working with others to help establish internal cultural change across management and at all levels of the organisation.As the leader of the Urban Development Portfolio, I lead a team of approximately 15 professionals based across Australia and perform the role of strategic leader in the formulation of initiatives, procedures, operational imperatives, and research that relates to planning, urban design, architecture, and place creation.My responsibilities also include the overseeing, communication and formulation of our design vision to achieve budget and delivery within appropriate time frames. My team work on many large complex inner-city projects together with large-scale greenfield sites. These projects require a careful and detailed understanding of the many land-use opportunities, including tertiary education, health, retail, commercial, hospitality and residential. This, together with my experience, knowledge and understanding of the many contextual issues and relationships required to deliver complex urban projects, has enabled my team to complete many creative, innovative and successful projects. The team and I are currently involved in projects in WA, NSW, the ACT, Queensland, Darwin and SA.

I co-founded Studio 53 in 2009 with Charlotte Kennedy. Studio 53 went from a start-up business to a core team comprised of 6-10 talented professionals and collaborations with many years of industry experience in design, architecture, urban design, master planning and interior design. Our approach was based on our knowledge of the entire design and development process needed to deliver innovative, commercially viable and sustainable solutions.Highlights of Studio 53’s delivered projects include the Karratha City Core (the Quarter) for DevelopmentWA/Mirvac, this project included working with local indigenous artists and form. Other projects include Stockland medium density, Housing at Calleya, Lend Lease Waterbank and MRA city link placemaking project. Studio 53 received many housing awards including Inisutute Awards for residential Project at Evans St, Shenton Park and residential and urban design awards for Hamersley Rd, Subiaco. Studio 53 was highly regarded within the profession.

Involved in helping to grow FORM from an arts and crafts based non-for-profit to a leading influencer and promoter in the cultural development of Art and Place Creation in WA. FORM and its team really are making WA a state of creativity.A highlight of my time with FORM include the award-winning Canning Stock Route Project, delivered by the team over a number of years from 2006 - 2013.

Appointed by Robert Hamilton and Adrian Fini to establish Mirvac Design in WA, I recruited and built a creative, award-winning design and technical team in WA from 1 (myself) to 88 professional staff. During my time at Mirvac Design, I met and exceeded financial targets, built significant relationships in associated environments including government, corporate and local authority and with fellow professionals and peers. While with Mirvac Design, I delivered award winning and profitable built form and masterplanned outcomes. WA examples of these include Bunker Bay, The Wesley Quarter, Burswood Lakes Masterplan/ Structure Plan, Leighton Beach apartments, and the masterplan of the Treasury Precinct and Hotel. I also successfully appointed, managed or collaborated with fellow respected professionals such as Renzo Piano, Kerry Hill, Ken Maher and Jan Gehl.
