• Responsible for day to day field implementation and management of Guidant clinical investigations in accordance with corporate objectives, protocol and FDA regulations.• FDA regulation compliance, knowledge of study protocols and clinical operating procedures.• Complete initiation visits for all new clinical centers, including center preparation, assisting with the IRB approval process, and enrollment preparation.• Assist with the monitoring procedures and data collection for each study.• Provide initial and transitional education for center personnel, sales representatives, and FCR’s on protocols, clinical process, products and applications.• Provide technical support for implants, follow-ups, and troubleshooting difficult cases.• Partner with the Sales team to augment technical expertise.• Demonstrate technical leadership by providing input on product ideas, performance, competitive position, developments, and therapeutic trends.• Share knowledge with customers and colleagues regarding product ideas, performance, competitive position, and therapeutic trends.• Travel as needed to accommodate case coverage throughout the state of Louisiana, Mississippi, and throughout the US and Europe as needed.
• Provide clinical support to customers and Sales Representative for education, implants, follow-up visits, and in-services to increase sales with existing customers.• Assist with education of Cardiology Fellows, newly implanting physicians, hospital staff, and clinic staff with pre-, during, and post-implant procedures to increase business with new customers.• Assisted and observed clinical studies in New Orleans and Shreveport as needed for follow-ups, implants, and troubleshooting.• Helped develop new implant stickers and customized presentations to fit our customers’ needs.• Assisted with training of new personnel with follow-up clinics and implants, as well as, a resource to the region for technical tips.• Current in the latest on the market released pacemakers and ICD’s from Guidant, as well as, our competitor’s devices.
• To provide clinical support to customers and Territory Manager on an as needed basis for education, pre-sales, evaluations, and follow-up visits.• Implementation of teaching protocol to certify individual physicians and hospitals.• To assist Clinical Education Manager, Sales, and Marketing with the design of new products and identify target markets and the needs that each of those markets have.
• Interim charge nurse responsibilities• Assist with cardiac, renal, and carotid angiograms with intervention, pacemakers, AICD, Rotoblator, TEC (peripheral and coronary), electrophysiology studies, fistulograms, peripheral angiograms with intervention• Other responsibilities include conscious sedation as needed in various areas of the hospital• Member of Standing Order Committee and Quality Improvement in Cardiology Committee• Developed and led Patient Follow-up Committee for post cath patients
