Energy Systems Mechanic I
CurrentEssential Functions:• Performs daily work based on the need requests of facility occupants and the direction ofsupervisors.• Communicates with department and facility staff in order to discover need and to informof resolution.• Manages and notes daily tasks, work time, materials and activities to correlate with awork-order time/asset management system.• Frequently utilizes Microsoft Windows based computers to interact with facility controlsystems, correspond with department representatives or vendors and to performtroubleshooting and supply research.• Troubleshoots and repairs, rebuilds or replaces a wide variety of HVAC equipment,including but not limited to: boilers, pumps, compressors, fans, electric motors,exchangers, air and fluid distribution systems.• Monitors and configures direct digital control systems. Able to: diagnose system issuesand make system modifications.• Diagnoses pneumatic control system issues and performs repair, replacement and/orcalibrations of components.• Reads sequence of operations descriptions, blue prints and P&ID schematics in order todiagnose and repair issues.• Troubleshoots network communication issues relating to computer systems and directdigital control equipment.• Conducts regular preventative maintenance testing and inspections on systems andequipment, making necessary adjustments or repairs.• Performs moderate renovation projects relating to the replacement or upgrade ofdepartmental systems.• Performs skilled electrical tasks, relating to the repair of HVAC equipment such as: faulttracing, connection of motors to control centers, replacement of electrical controlcomponents, etc.• Utilizes meters and testing equipment in support of required activities (electrical multi-meters,amp sensing, flow testing, combustion analyzing, etc.).• Performs required work with reference to and compliance of all governing code (EPA,OSHA, NFPA, IBC, UBC, UPC, NEC, ASME etc.)
