With an active practice in both Portland and Boston, Chris represents a variety of domestic and international business and nonprofit clients in mergers and acquisitions; entity choice and organization; equity and debt financing; contracts; board governance; shareholder relations; and other compliance and transactional matters. Chris is outside corporate counsel to a range of U.S. and foreign enterprises, including early-stage ventures and other businesses and NGOs with regional, national, and global operations. Chris is the immediate past Chairman of the Business Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association, and has presented internationally on cross-border investment issues, including related government reporting requirements. Prior to joining Verrill Dana, Chris served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Howard D. McKibben of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada.Chris currently serves on the boards of several tax-exempt organizations in the Portland area.
