Born in Belfast Northern Ireland. I moved to San Diego at age eleven and now call it my home. I have always been a lifelong learner and began my path into education working in afterschool programs while attending California State University-San Marcos, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, a Major in Liberal Studies, a Minor in Visual and Performing Arts, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.I began my educational experience as a 🤖 Robotics Program Advisor and a 🎬 Video Production Advisor working with middle school students at Bernardo Heights Middle School in the Poway Unified School District. After a brilliant three-year adventure in Middle School, I accepted my first Elementary school position in fourth grade at a public charter school in San Diego, working with low-income minority students. The following year I accepted another fourth-grade position in a public school district in Imperial Beach working primarily with English language learners and students with learning disabilities. I was enthusiastic to continue my educational journey by becoming a part of the Julian Charter School Phoenix Learning Center teaching team. Teaching there for two years I incorporated the rich curricula of Patterns of Change from the College of William & Mary. Guiding scholars using the concepts of cyclic patterns of change. Introducing them to important approaches and ideas of literary criticism while exploring cycles in nature, knowledge, history, and human life. I also introduced several new projects that are now part of the curriculum, including the Greek Panathenaea that challenges scholars to learn about ancient Greek history through STEAM skills, Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics.In 2019/2020 I had a blast teaching Middle School and High School Digital Media at The Winston School in Del Mar. I also help out in other classrooms and run a fun watercolouring and ceramics activity period.In addition to my passion for education, my hobbies include trail running, traveling, surfing, aquascaping, painting, filmmaking, carpentry, sculpture, photography, and creating things with technology. I love animals and have several aquariums for freshwater 🐠 nano fish and 🦐 dwarf shrimp.
