I'm passionate about exploring the world and telling its stories. It sounds cliché, but I believe my travels have made me who I am. The world and its landscapes have fascinated me since I was a kid. It was probably my family’s annual backpacking trips to the American West that ignited my interest in the natural world and the forces that shape it. Driven by my passion for storytelling and travel, I recently founded an online magazine, The Modern Xplorer that blends my love of exploring new places with my love of writing. Launching this magazine has been an adventure in itself, requiring me to develop several diverse skill sets. From web design and social media marketing to graphic design and content creation.In the process of building this platform, I have developed expertise in using tools like Wix for web design, Adobe Lightroom for photo editing, and Canva for graphic design. Managing the content has sharpened my writing, photography, and storytelling skills, while also enhancing my proficiency in social media management and engagement. My initiative in this venture has driven the magazine's growth, allowing me to successfully maintain a consistent production of high-quality and compelling content that resonates with readers around the world. With this magazine, I aim to inspire others to see the world as I do, through a lens of curiosity and adventure.My interest in the natural world is what drew me to study environmental geoscience at the College of Wooster, one of the most highly-regarded programs in the country. Over my four years as a student in the Earth Sciences department, I learned how our planet works. I studied how we as humans interact with our planet by attending classes in environmental studies, history, anthropology, and archaeology.I started working as a host at the City Square Steakhouse right after graduation. A flagship of the Mike Mariola Resturaunt Group, City Square is a high-end property that regularly does 200 covers a night. As Head Host I have learned how to provide exceptional service, pay attention to detail, work calmly under pressure, and create memorable experiences for our guests. I am seeking a position in a management training program or a management position. Although my training so is in Front-of-House, I am interested in all aspects of the hospitality industry. I am eager to find a role where I can contribute my enthusiasm for customer service, my attention to detail, my ability to adapt to fast-paced environments. I am committed to establishing a long-term career in hospitality.
