Chris began his career in the field of law enforcement immediately upon graduating high school. Working first as a police aide (booking prisoners and as a traffic crash investigator), then as a reserve police officer, and finally as a full-time police officer. During his career in law enforcement, Chris worked in the following positions: patrol officer, marine patrol officer, mounted police officer, aviation observer, community police officer, street crime suppression officer, and field training officer. Chris was promoted in 2003, to Police Sergeant. As a sergeant for 17 years, Chris supervised 9 different patrol squads, the School Resource Unit, the Police Explorer Unit, the Community Resource Unit, the Field Training Officer Unit, the Police Training Unit, and the Field Training Officer Unit for a second time. Chris also served on the Accident Review Committee, the City’s Design Review Committee (for new construction/development) as the police department’s representative, and also represented the City at the Broward County Emergency Operations Center for over a decade. In October of 2020, Chris was promoted to Police Captain and assigned as the evening shift patrol commander. With his promotion, Chris was selected to command the Miramar Department’s Field Training Officer Program. During his time in law enforcement, Chris completed both his BPA and MPA at Barry University. Additionally, Chris completed numerous supervision and management courses to include the Middle Management Course thru the Miami-Dade Police Department and the Executive Leadership Program at Nova Southeastern University. Chris received many commendations, awards and recognitions during his career. They include five Unit Citations as a supervisor, the Excellent Police Award, the Officer of the Quarter Award, and the Police Officer of the Year Award.Chris is currently a member of the Broward County Chiefs of Police Association and a member of the Miramar Police Department’s Command Staff.
