I have been working in the aviation industry for 20 years currently for easyJet as an Engineer on the Aircraft Recovery Team. With this job role I am responsible for the recovery of aircraft with technical defects and aircraft that have been involved in incidents causing the aircraft to become damaged or unable to be moved by conventional methods. Before my current position I was a Maintenance Control Officer within Maintenance Operations Control at easyJet. This had been a bit of a change in direction for my career to part M. My main responsibilities in this role where to support the the MOC front desk, management of all operational significant defects, manage and challenge all technical delays, arrange for the recovery and repair of AOG aircraft, management of deferred defects, making sure all 280 aircraft are ready for departure every morning and liaising between operations and engineering.During my time I have gained extensive experience on Boeing and Airbus aircraft systems, structures, engines and cabins. My main type of experience is on Narrow body Boeing 727, 737, 757, Airbus A320 and wide body Boeing 747 aircraft. I have also worked on 146, RJ100, Boeing 707, MD83, MD11/DC10, Focker 100, 50, Airbus A330 and A340. For the 10 Years I was at ATC my main role was working as a Lead Mechanic working on 737, 757 and A320 Aircraft. I was Leading a team of Engineers/ Mechanics on major and minor structural repairs including problem solving, Liaising with Reps and TC Holders. Another role at ATC Lasham was leading major cabin modifications with Air Astana and Dreamjet on 757's and A320's. The modifications included IFE installs, ROW 44 Wifi systems, Lighting upgrades, Galley/ Stowage/ Lav upgrades or changes and Flight deck upgrades. I also have a vast experience of aircraft end of lease checks including dealing with EOL structural issues, Cabin condition and compleat D&B Reviews.
