I write and edit, follow trends and analyze data for the family of beer industry trade publications from Beer Marketer’s Insights. Beginning with work on our craft-focused newsletter, Craft Brew News, over 12 years ago, I've followed craft beer’s ups and downs closer than most, tracking how its trajectory fits into the overall alcohol beverage industry and broader consumer trends. Craft beer remains a point of personal interest and giving craft-focused presentations are still some of my favorite projects. We're all generalists at BMI and have to write about a wide range of topics. But I tend to focus more than most on legal and policy issues, taking up the reins when my father, Eric, retired in August 2021. That's also when I took over as editor of Alcohol Issues INSIGHTS, our newsletter focused on alcohol policy and science. In January 2022, I led the reinvention of that newsletter by broadening its scope to also cover industry sustainability and inclusion stories, while changing its format, tone and price-point to make these crucial industry topics more approachable and accessible. My background in theatre and dance makes me comfortable on stage and a high-energy, frequent presenter at industry conferences. I still dance, choreograph and write poetry. When time permits, I love to bake, play board games and hike near my home in the suburbs of New York City.
