As the IPC, my main goal is to motivate and support the students volunteering with FSD in Udaipur. This entails providing guidance on dealing with culture shock, organizing workshops on grant writing/cultural events and engaging with the local non-profits that host the students.

I developed and implemented San Francisco's 1st bike friendly business district in the Yerba Buena neighborhood. I led all parts of the project including conceptualizing the district, recruiting participants, managing business relationships, and organizing events. In June 2014, the district successfully launched with 36 participants, all providing services ranging from sidewalk parking to discounts. I was responsible for working on all parts of program planning, including content creation through blog posts, copy editing, and image creation using Photoshop. The programs I worked on ranged from engagement with North Korea, to exploring undocumented Asian immigrants, to Hakka Chinese cuisine. I also managed said content on the website, promoted events through social media, and conceptualized future programs. Taught English at a bi-lingual (Chinese-English) Montessori kindergarten. I was responsible for writing lesson plans that followed general monthly themes, using my own judgment to organize materials in a way that would engage my students. During my six-month contract I succeeded in both introducing basic English language and familiarizing them to interacting with English speakers.

I was one of four group leaders on the June 2011 Formosa Foundation Ambassador Program. The program chose a select group of students to visit Washington DC and meet with congressional members with the aim of improving US-Taiwan relations. As group leader I oversaw a group of five other students, scheduled over 20 congressional meetings, guided the development of our talking points and led the meeting discussions. Our promotion of stronger military ties between the US and Taiwan aligned with the passage of the 2011 Taiwan Policy Act just weeks after the program finished.

Worked on various projects for Prof. Christopher Twomey and Prof. Sandra Leavitt regarding East Asian regional/internal security issues. Also tasked with translating PRC government reports and news clippings from Mandarin into English.
